Thoughts from the Pond

~ Journey ~
Along the highway of life, an unexpected detour sign may be just the opportunity you are waiting for, if you know how to perceive it and what to look for...

A very important concept to embrace is to enjoy the process of floating through life and not get "caught up" in the day-to-day insignificant things...too often we get so caught up in those insignificant things that we cannot enjoy the forest because of the weeds. Take a look around you...there's so much to marvel at, so much that's been put here for us to study and inquire about. Learn to enjoy the journey!

The secret truth one seeks may be just past the next detour... The secret truth one seeks may be within the next "set-back"... It always pays to look no matter what the situation. You may just find a piece of your destiny!

One's built-in abilities can get them to the top, but it is character that will keep them there.

In the carousel of life you can choose how you go 'round. You can give up, close your eyes and lie on the floor or you can choose to ride high on the horse you like best. You can look at all the good things that appear or you can look at all the negative things that pass by. The things that pass will be the same for everyone, but how you ride the merry-go-round makes all the difference.

Out on the oceans of life, words are like ships. Within these ships is a very valuable cargo: thoughts and ideas and visions and dreams. The power they have is great. They can be used to create or to destroy...to make happy or to make sad...to love or to hate. The oceans are vast and the ships many. Choose your ships and your words wisely.

What God has you start, He has already seen the end...

The end of something means the beginning of other things... usually more than one new beginning will present itself. One will be a path equal to or below where you are now, and the other will be a path to greater heights. The choice is yours. Choose wisely...

The journey of many begins with the journey of one...

Sometimes it takes the light and hope of the heart to illuminate one's life path to the mind...

When traveling along the road of life you may come to a dead end. Many people will assume that this road has ended and turn around. If your passion or goal is worthy and good, don't be afraid to continue past the mental roadblock of a dead end...build a new road!

An optimist and a pessimist could arrive at the same destination in life...but the optimist is the one who will have enjoyed the process and the journey of getting there. When in doubt, be an optimist.

If you don't know where you are going in life, chart a course to a place you are passionate about and a place you would like to go... by the time you get there you will have a better idea of where you really want to go, and you will have succeeded in getting closer to that place.

The next time you feel lost, turn it around and think of it as:
LOST = a Learning Opportunity Shining Through

The stream of life knows where it is meant to go and flows accordingly. Each person has his or her own stream in life, and it flows toward each individual's purpose in life. When one fights the flow or current of their individual stream or purpose, he or she may feel confused, drained, unfulfilled or hopeless. These are valuable signals that one needs to get back on their own path to their unique individual purpose in life.

Each single moment in time has the extraordinary potential within it to provide hope, joy, happiness, and success. Each moment also has the potential to provide pain, sadness, and despair. It's all out there. Seek out the positive power of each moment... focus on that relentlessly and then go forth and seek your destiny...

If you know your path in life is good and worthy, do not let the words and actions of the few persuade you from your journey...

Choices and moments go hand in hand...second to second, each moment in life is chock full of choices. Within many of those choices are opportunities. Make the most of them while you can...

The more you go "around the block" in life, the more things you notice for the first time. Look closer at the details, for you may see opportunities that you didn't see before.

Let the good of who you are reflect off of everyone you meet. Let the positive attitude and hope of your dreams illuminate the darkness and ease the burden of someone else.

Let past experience be your teacher, not your destiny. Learn from it, grow from it, but do not be controlled by it...

If the winds are blowing in the opposite direction that you want your life to go, don't worry...it means that it's going to take some additional work to get to where you want to go. And this is an opportunity to strengthen yourself even further...

Just about anyone can win gracefully, but it is rarer to find someone who can lose gracefully and learn something in the process...

Building a life is like building a house. You need to have a set of plans to build from. Along the way, changes will have to be made to refine, improve, and enhance the construction. Later on additions and other things can be put in place. And no matter how good and nice the house is on the outside, it is who or what is on the inside that matters most. That is what makes a house a home...that is what makes a life a great life...

It is one thing to know the future...it is much more exciting to create the future.

We often think we need more than we really need to reach our goals or fulfill our dreams. The reality is that we already have the abilities and the tools to get where we want to go in life, and many of the things we think we need, we don't need after all. Improve the built-in tools and abilities you already have...and be careful about wasting time on the things you think you need...you may not need them after all.

It's not what you have or don't have that counts...it's what you do with what you've got that matters. Make the most of your built-in abilities and capabilities and you will be happy and successful!
